What interesting times we are living in. As someone who has blogged before, I am a natural observer, almost likening myself to a chronicler of events whether I write anything about them or not. Yet the times right now are having an impact that nothing before us has ever had. So, as I wake up in the mornings and help 4 kids with elearning activities for their schools, and have a toddler who wants to be involved, AND a wife who is in school to fulfill her dream of becoming a Doctor of Chirpractiic Care, I find myself having to be intentional about which lens I choose to view my world through. At times, it almost becomes a game for me. For the sake of naming it, let's call it "Find the Blessings".

The rules are easy. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is the spend time everyday trying to find the blessings of God in your current surroundings. So whether y our kids refuse to take a nap, or throw oatmeal all over the freshly painted cabinets, or whether your teenagers are giving you major attitude, continually ask yourself "Where is the blessing?"
No, it may not always make you smile, or exhale, or feel like everything is right with the world.
But it might!
And those short, sweet moments of respite might be just what you need in order to make it through the day. The blessings of God are all around us. It is our job to actively look for them. There is an old Baptist hymn that says,
"Count your blessings, name them one by one
Count your blessings, see what God has done."
I am convinced that the more you scavenge through the muck and murk of present life to intentionally find the blessings scattered throughout it, thankfulness and gratitude will cascade throughout your life. Today, commit to doing this with me, and when you've finished, let me know what you find!
Be Blessed!
